New club sponsor announced

Kathryn Murdock, Head of the Bedding Department in Dalzells, was on hand to launch the boards with Club Chairperson Andrew Baird. Also present were Kathryn's daughters, Rebecca and Lisa who play for the Ladies 1s.

Kathryn said, "Dalzells of Markethill are really pleased to help the club on their journey. My girls get great enjoyment from hockey and they've made lots of friends at Newry Olympic over the years."

Chairperson Andrew said, "The club are delighted to add Dalzell's of Markethill to our portfolio of sponsors. Dalzells are a long established business within the area and we're really grateful for their sponsorship which will go a long way to help in the development of the club and our players."

He continued, "Our members come from a wide catchment area. We've players from across counties Down and Armagh and also from over the boarder in Dundalk. This has been largely driven by the success of our youth policy, with girls and boys joining our juniors coaching on Saturday mornings and progressing to mid-week training for those aged 14 and above. We're now fielding two ladies and two mens teams every weekend. This season is just finishing, but we're already on the lookout for new members for 2024/25."
