Training & Match Protocols

NOHC are operating in accordance with the recommendations and regulations outlined by the NI Executive, Hockey Ireland, Ulster Hockey and Sport NI. For further information on any of these organizations please see the ‘Governing Bodies’ section.


NOHC has appointed a number of COVID-Officers (CVO) who will be present at each training session and competitive match, identifiable by their hi-vis vest.


All CVO’s are volunteers and must be treated with respect. Our COVID protocols are in place to keep all our members and visitors safe. Please comply with the instructions given by our CVO’s.

Track and Trace

Anyone attending Newry Olympic Hockey Club must register using the track and trace app on the day of attendance. The track and trace app is GDPR compliant. Data is held for 21 days before being deleted.

Members or visitors displaying any COVID symptoms must stay away from NOHC.

Visiting Teams

Match Day (pre-match)

  • All members of visiting teams must register using the track and trace app on the day of the match, prior to arriving at NOHC.
  • Visitors must remain in their vehicles until the pre-agreed arrival time.
  • Do not congregate at the pitch entrance.
  • Entrance will be permitted when a COVID officer has confirmed your registration on the track and trace app.
  • Sanitize hands on entry to pitch using the hand sanitizer stations provided.
  • All COVID responsibilities inside the pitch area will be the responsibility of the umpire.


Match Day (post-match)

  • Ensure you have gathered all your belongings, including kit bags, empty bottles and rubbish.
  • Exit the pitch promptly via the exit.
  • Sanitise hands on leaving the pitch using the hand sanitizer stations provided.
  • Do not congregate in the car park – disperse and return to your vehicle.

Match Day

Spectators

  • Spectators are welcome to attend competitive games
  • Spectators should not be present at training sessions.
  • Spectators must sign in using the track and trace app on the day prior to attending.


Facilities

  • Changing and shower facilities remain closed.
  • Toilets are available and are being operated on a one-in, one-out basis. All surfaces must be sanitized before and after each use by the user.
  • A one-way system is in place around the grounds.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are located at all entrance and exit points of the pitch and buildings.
  • COVID advice signage has been placed around the grounds and pitch.

Clubhouse & Bar

  • Access to the club house is via the main entrance.
  • Exit to the club house is via the side doors.
  • You must sign in using the QR code (see dedicated section)
  • Hand sanitizing stations have been made available at various points both inside and outside the clubhouse.
  • The bar will operate a table service only – no bar service.
  • Drinks orders will be taken by a member of bar staff at your table.
  • Contactless payments are preferred.
  • Face coverings must be worn on entry, while moving round inside and when leaving the clubhouse.
  • Everyone inside the clubhouse must have a seat – no standing
  • Toilets are operating on a one-in, one-out basis.
  • Once the maximum capacity has been reached inside, outside seating will be made available.
  • The one-way system in place inside and outside the clubhouse must be observed at all times.

Confirmed / Suspected Case

Should there be a confirmed or suspected case of COVID-19 at NOHC, the club will follow the guidelines detailed by Sport NI and comply fully with the Public Health Agency.
