Derg Valley 1-0 Newry Olympic Ladies (Intermediate Plate)

It was an unlucky 1-0 defeat for the Newry Olympic ladies as they played Derg Valley in an Intermediate Plate match on Saturday 18th February.

The Olympic side started strongly and were quick to create chances within the circle but just couldn’t score. There was great play among the midfield who played some lovely passes to the forwards putting the Derg defence under pressure. However, just before the end of the first quarter the Derg's centre forward broke through and scored putting them 1 nil up.

For the remainder of the match, Newry won numerous short corners but were unable to equalise.

It was an unfortunate loss for the Olympic ladies who played some great hockey and dominated the majority of the match.
