Newry Olympic Ladies travelled to a wet and windy Bangor on Saturday 26 November to play Donaghadee and ended up on the wrong side of a 2-0 result.
Newry started strongly and created some good linkages, but were unable to get past Donaghadee’s solid defence. It wasn’t long before Donaghadee played the ball into Newry’s circle scoring their first goal of the match.
The Olympic ladies continued to work hard and sweeper Chrissie McAuley played some great hit outs, clearing the ball well out of Newry’s half.
Unfortunately, with only minutes from half time, Donaghadee scored their second goal.
Newry managed to get a few chances in the second half, but it just wasn’t their day. With super defending from the Newry ladies who fought to the final whistle, no further goals were conceded.
