Olympic Mens 1s lose at home to strong South Antrim side

High-flying South Antrim were the visitors for Newry on Saturday 26 November in the latest round of league fixtures and came away with a well deserved 3-1 win.

After an edgy first quarter, South Antrim took the lead through a smartly worked short corner, however the lead was short lived as Newry managed to get back on level terms with a short corner of their own with David England the scorer.

South Antrim continued to dominate possession in the second half and scored their second goal after a rapid counter attack in the third quarter. Before Newry could sort themselves out South quickly got their third, knocking the stuffing out of the home side.

As much as Olympic tried to get back into the game in the final quarter, they could not muster up any clear cut chances as the game finished 3-1.

Newry Olympic 1s:

R. McGivern, D. England, N. McKnight, A. Baird, G. Moffett, J. Porter, J. Greer, K. Fletcher, S. Blakely, C. Large, A. Shekleton, J. Gregg, S. McCafferty, M. Murdock
