Newry Olympic Ladies 2s travelled to Bangor Grammar School to play Donaghadee 2s on Saturday 27th February.
Newry won the toss and chose to pass back playing into the sunshine. Both sides fought hard in the first quarter, but couldn't break through to score, resulting in a nil all draw at the end of the first period.
Donaghadee appeared to change formation during the second quarter and put the visitors defence under immense pressure, which resulted in the first goal and a one nil lead for the home side.
At half time Newry put four across the midfield and won a couple of corners in the third quarter, but they were unable to find an equaliser.
In the final quarter, 'Dee played their whole team high up the pitch, forcing Newry back. They eventually put another goal in the back of net, making it two nil against Newry.
The Olympic girls never stopped trying, but the sound of the final whistle came too soon.
