Newry Olympic 2's opened their league campaign when they entertained Cookstown 4's on Saturday, with Newry looking to record their first win of the season.
It was a cagey start with a lot of the game taking place in the midfield, however Newry did have a couple of penalty corners that they were unable to convert with chances falling to Josh Porter, Captain McCafferty and Corey Large.
Cookstown found home keeper Richard Henning in excellent form when tested, with the Newry defence of Simon Moffett, Noah Lutton and the Lawson brothers standing strong.
There were late chances for both sides, however the points were split with the game ending scoreless.
