The Ladies 2s travelled to Dromore on Saturday 25th November to play the local side's 5th XI in the Junior 9a league,
Right from the start Newry were on the attack, with Captain Laverne Inns getting a strike on goal from a strong run on the right wing, but her effort was intercepted by the Dromore sweeper.
The home side were quick to turn the tide however and scored the first goal of the game from open play.
In the second quarter, the Olympic girls fought back with right-mid Rhianna Hale driving into the circle and finishing off a great move to make it one all.
The second half was a tense battle and in the third quarter both teams scored again from open play. Captain Inns on the mark for the visitors.
In the final quarter both teams fought hard for the winner, but it looked as of the points would be shared.
It was Dromore however who won two late consecutive corners and eventually scored from a straight shot on goal in the final 30 seconds to take the win and all three points.
The Olympic 2s deserved to take something from the game after a great performance, but it was not to be.
