Girls U15s win friendly in Dromore

Newry U15's travelled to Dromore on Sunday 6th February for what proved to be a very evenly matched game.

Newry had dominant spells in the first half and forced a number of penalty corners throughout the match.

From one of their early corner routines, Hannah Malcomson and Brianna Gregg worked a tremendous one-two on the right and back again to the centre of the circle, but the Dromore keeper made an excellent save to keep the score nil-nil.

Maisie Ellison also made a couple of great dribbles down the right wing in the first half, but unfortunately was unable to split the defence.

The game was a stalemate until the third quarter when Casey Patterson made sure she was in the right place to have a tap in at the back post, after great work from Hannah and Brianna once again.

A solid defensive display from Olivia Allely, Zara Moffett, Leah Malcomson, Caragh McGaffin and goalkeeper Abbey Moffett, kept Dromore at bay until the final whistle.

This was another great performance from all the girls who are developing really well this season.

The next game is at home against Armagh on Friday 4th March at 7:30pm in the UH Development League.
