Olympic 2s entertained Lisnagarvey 5s on Tuesday 8th February under the floodlights at Belfast Road, for the home side's final game of the season.
Newry had much of the ball without causing the Garvey defence many problems and were unlucky not to take the lead after Simon McCafferty slotted home, only for the goal to be ruled out and a penalty corner awarded instead.
Soon after, Garvey took the lead with a penalty corner, giving goalkeeper Richard Henning no chance.
Newry then picked it up and got back on level terms, with Andrew Baird playing an exquisite cross field pass to Gareth Moffett who cut inside and glided a reverse stick shot past the stranded keeper.
Both sides ruled each other out for long periods and clear cut chances were few and far between.
Garvey did have one final chance, but the shot from a penalty corner was ruled out due to a lifted ball.
The game ended in an honourable draw with Newry 2s finishing a very credible third in the league table.
