Twenty eager golfers from the society made the trip to Kilkeel, with the course in stunning condition, matching the stunning weather, the day was set up for some brilliant golf.
With a lot to play for this year with a new 'Golfer of the Year' prize up for grabs, Robbie Taylor was the man to catch with a super 40 points. After a slow front nine resulting in 16 points, Robbie turned it around on the back 9 with a stunning 24 points to claim the 1st spot with 40 points.
In 2nd place with a steady 36 points was Nigel Rees. No score on the 13th hole from Nigel proved costly, which ruined his chances of potentially catching 1st place.
In 3rd place with 34 points was Ian McNeill. No score on the 12th hole was again costly, preventing a better finish. However, taking £4 of a Scots man gave plenty to be happy about!!
The Longest Drive was claimed by Ryan McIlroy with a huge drive on the 18th Hole.
Richard Nummy won the Closest to the Pin on the 15th Hole, hitting his tee shot into 27 inches.
With Captain Jeff McNeill relaxing in Lanzarote, Kenny Cowan presented the prizes to the winners.
The Golf Society Committee would like to thank Kilkeel Golf Club for the use of their course which was in immaculate condition and thank the restaurant for the food provided after.
