Newry 2s travelled to Shaw’s Bridge in Belfast to face a much changed Instonians team from the one they faced earlier in the season.
Inst started well as Newry soaked up some early pressure, and the home side took an early lead when their forward deflected past Richy Henning in the Newry goal.
Newry settled into the game and found themselves level when Simon Moffett tapped in at the back post to level the scores.
Inst scored a couple of quick-fire goals, but Newry fought back and found themselves level with two trademark strikes from David Hogg from well executed short corners.
As Newry continued to push forward in their search for the winner, that inevitably led to gaps at the back and Instonians took full advantage to score and take both points.
