Summer Scheme 22 a great success!

The Club Summer Scheme proved to be another big success with close to 50 club members taking part in the fun.

Despite funding for the scheme being reduced this year, a full range of sports and creative activites was provided, ensuring a great time was had by all.

Held over six afternoons from Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th August and from Monday 22nd to Wednesday 24th August, the sessions were packed with a host of activities including:

• hockey led by the Newry Olympic club youth coaches
• soccer supported by NxtGen Football
• dance with the Newry Dance team
• health & fitness exercises with Lifeguards
• rounders
• arts & crafts

At the end of the scheme, Club Chairman Brian Lockhart, thanked everyone for taking part and for giving their all during the sessions. He highlighted there was some great talent on display and real sports stars of the future, before handing out gifts to all the participants.

Brian also thanked all the coaches for their time and support and said he hoped to run another summer scheme again next year.
