It's been a busy start to the season for James Macauley, the latest recruit to the mens playing squad from Banbridge.
After scoring on his home debut against Portrush in September, James attended the Ulster Hockey Youth Umpires training course in Dromore on 13 October.
The Young Umpires training course is designed to be an introduction to hockey umpiring for young people aged 15 to 21. The course focused on how to umpire youth hockey, looking specifically at U11, U13 and U15 hockey.
The Young Umpires course is the first course in the hockey umpiring pathway and is a great way to get a taste of umpiring.
Although this programme is now over for 2023, keep an eye out for future courses from Ulster Hockey. The club will refund members for any fees and expenses incurred for attending UH courses.
